Mary Poppins The Musical returns to the West End stage this August. The musical sees Zizi Strallen return to the titular role of Mary, as she joins the Banks' household as nanny to Jane and Michael. Charlie Stemp stars as Burt and Academy Award-winning Petula Clark, singer of 'Downtown' has been cast as the Bird Woman, alongside Joseph Millson playing the head of the household, George Banks.
Mary takes Jane and Michael on adventures to go and fly a kite, feed the birds and much more. See the tale of the nanny who has entertained generations brought to the stage once more, and enjoy favourite songs such as 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' and 'Chim Chim Cher-ee' and of course, 'A Spoonful Of Sugar'.
Written by P L Travers, along with the original music and lyrics by Robert B Sherman and Richard M Sherman and additional new music, vocal arrangements and additional lyrics by Anthony Drewe and George Stiles. Directed by Sir Richard Eyre, with choreography by Sir Matthew Bourne OBE.
This is certainly a show to be enjoyed by all, with adventure, magic and for many a hint of nostalgia. Showing from August to February at The Prince Edward Theatre, tickets are now on sale.
