Looking Back

The luxury of being able to view Art in real life returned to us in April of this year. So, in May, we launched London's first Augmented Reality outdoor gallery - with the help of Stephen Mangan!

The Augmented Gallery united some of Britain's leading art institutions - The National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Royal Academy of Arts to showcase some of their most beloved artworks outdoors using AR technology. The gallery included classic pieces such as Van Gogh's Sunflowers, works by modern day artists Ishbel Myerscough and Tracey Emin and portraits of iconic sitters including that of Malala Yousafzai.

Art of London Season

From June to September the very first Art of London Season was brought into fruition.

Partnering with the Royal Academy of Arts and five Royal Academy Artists, we brought you the Piccadilly Art Takeover a series of 30 artfully designed flags and 13 vibrant crossings which took over Piccadilly and Piccadilly Circus. We saw visitors return to the West End and embrace the colour and joy of their surrounds!

As part of the season, the Tusk Lion Trail launched in London in August by the Tusk Organisation supported by Art of London. Artist such as Ronnie Wood, Noel Fielding and Hannah Shergold created 25 uniquely decorated lions which landed in the West End to raise awareness and funds for lion conservation efforts.

West End Gallery HOP!

Autumn saw the arrival of the West End Gallery HOP! a new venture between Mayfair Art Weekend and Art of London. Galleries across the West End kept their doors open late for art lovers to hop from gallery to gallery late into the evening.

Following the successes of the Autumn HOP! we brought a winter edition to life this December, to give art-lovers a cultural event to indulge in ahead of the festive season.
