Robert Montgomery headlined Art After Dark alongside Claire Luxton from 12-13 October 2023.
The event featured compelling works by MTArt artists Robert Montgomery and Claire Luxton, alongside late-night openings at over 30 galleries and institutions. A standout feature of this year’s programme was Robert Montgomery’s illuminated installation, 'The People You Love'. Known for his poetic and thought-provoking works, Montgomery presented an evocative piece that combined art and design to express themes of love, sorrow, and loss.
Positioned in Leicester Square Gardens, the glowing text installation encouraged visitors to pause, reflect, and connect with the deeper emotions that define the human experience. Its profound yet accessible message left a lasting impression on all who passed by. Complementing Montgomery’s work was Claire Luxton’s towering inflatable sculpture, 'The Cornucopia'. Rising to an impressive 7 metres and spanning 70 square metres, the sculpture featured playful shades of purple, green, pink, and orange, illuminated by LED lighting. Symbolising growth, beauty, and the vibrant energy of the West End, Luxton’s bold piece brought a sense of wonder and vitality to the gardens.
