Cranbourn street is a lively and bustling street that connects Leicester Square from Charing Cross Road. Close to Covent Garden & Soho, a stone’s throw from Piccadilly and Trafalgar square, conveniently located for theatres, galleries, cinemas & shopping.
The Opportunity
There are twelve eye-bolts attached to buildings down the street, from the Hippodrome down to the Vue Cinema. Annually utilised for Christmas lights, these provide an exciting opportunity to display above the busy street and for many the gateway into Leicester Square. This could take the form of canvases, lighting, lanterns or lightweight sculpts. All pieces will be subject to weight restrictions and wind calculations, so please consider this in your designs - no heavy sculptures! Structural engineers and experts will be consulted in the Ideas Lab and beyond so no need to go into that level of detail yet.
