Bear St

Brighter Future - Location 4: Bear Street

Bear Street is a hidden gem that runs between Charing Cross Road and Cranbourn Street, directly into the main area of Leicester Square.

The Location

Bear Street is a hidden gem that runs between Charing Cross Road and Cranbourn Street, directly into the main area of Leicester Square. It is a cozy and well-trodden street, home to popular bars and tourist gift shops, usually used as a shortcut from one bustling corner of Charing Cross Road to the equally busy Leicester Square.

The Opportunity

There are eye bolts installed on 10 buildings down the street, from 1 Bear Street and Zoo to Bear and Staff. These provide an exciting opportunity to display your Brighter Future vision prominently above the busy street either in isolation or as part of a trail alongside the nearby streets around Leicester Square. This could take the form of canvases, lighting, lanterns or lightweight sculpts (see examples). All pieces will be subject to weight restrictions and wind calculations, so please consider this in your designs - no heavy sculptures! Structural engineers and experts will be consulted in the Ideas Lab and beyond so no need to go into that level of detail yet.
