Grosvenor Gallery x Angeli Sowani

Angeli Sowani has been invited back to Grosvenor Gallery to showcase her fourth solo exhibition 'Together' on 15 - 30 September.

After doing some extensive research, Angeli tributes her artwork to the near-forgotten women and men from the Commonwealth countries, who served significant roles during the First World War, with carefully painted portraits.

One of the fascinating women Angeli depicts is the British spy Noor Inayat Khan who became a British secret agent for Special Operations Executive and was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943. She was chained up in solitary confinement and was later executed at Dachau concentration camp at the age of thirty along with three other women. Their bodies were thrown in the fire and all traces disappeared.
