Ramadan Lights London 2025
What's on
Ramadan Lights are back in London’s West End for a third amazing year, lighting up Coventry Street with over 30,000 twinkling lights!
The display stretches from Piccadilly Circus to Leicester Square, bringing a warm glow to the city and celebrating Ramadan.
This year, the Aziz Foundation is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a bigger, brighter, and more immersive display than ever before. The switch-on ceremony was a star-studded event, with Sir Sadiq Khan, Rahima Aziz BEM, Adil Ray OBE, and Yasser Ranjha joining the fun. The night featured interactive installations, a beautiful lantern parade, and a spectacular light show.
Children’s Lantern Parade
The evening began with a heartwarming lantern parade, led by the Lord Mayor of Westminster. Around 70 children from local schools carried their lanterns through Leicester Square, filling the space with light and showing the spirit of togetherness.
‘Spread The Light’ Installation
In Leicester Square, the new ‘Spread The Light’ installation was switched on, sending beams of light soaring into the sky. It revealed stunning gold and silver patterns and the words ‘Spread The Light’, spreading a message of unity and hope.
The grand finale saw Coventry Street transformed by an amazing aerial light display. The streets were lit with dazzling geometric and celestial patterns.
The display will show ‘Happy Ramadan’ throughout the month, then change to ‘Happy Eid’ for Eid al-Fitr, making it the first major light display in Europe dedicated to Eid.
At the heart of the installation is Sundial, a stunning piece symbolising the transition from dawn to dusk—reflecting the fasting experience with glowing suns, moons, and beautiful patterns.
