Location
A founding figure of Fauvism, alongside Henri Matisse, Derain is known for his expressive use of bold colour. His View of Collioure (c. 1905) captures the Mediterranean landscape through vivid, heightened hues, transforming the familiar coastline into something energetic and almost dreamlike.
Inspired by this celebrated work, the Stratton Street installation brings Derain’s colourful vision of the South of France into Mayfair, offering Londoners a chance to step into the painting and experience the Riviera through a new lens.
