Art of London Gallery HOP!

Start in St James’s at the Art of London Gallery HOP! With 13 exhibitions to explore, you can wander from Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite paintings at Martin Beisly Fine Art to street art by Olaolu Slawn at Saatchi Yates. Journey around the globe with Karachi-based artist Adeela Suleman at Grosvenor Gallery and experience the works of Kenyan artist Magdalene Odundo at Thomas Dane Gallery.

Eight galleries will showcase brand-new exhibitions that have just opened, including Larkin Durey’s participation alongside indigenous Sámi artist Anders Sunna. At Cristea Roberts, renowned British artist Ian Davenport will engage in a conversation with co-director David Cleaton-Roberts. Plus, the Mayor Gallery will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Surrealism with an exhibition showcasing the movement's creativity and adventure.

The HOP! opens the door for art enthusiasts and the curious alike to explore independent galleries through a series of guided tours, talks, and opportunities to meet artists.

Marco Pariani: Painting Bakery

Skarstedt Gallery presents ‘Painting Bakery’,Marco Pariani’s third solo exhibition with the gallery, featuring new paintings and works on paper with black and white backgrounds and festive imagery like gingerbread men and snowmen.

Inspired by gingerbread house-making competitions, Pariani blends his artistic process with culinary techniques, layering gesso, spray paint, resin, and acrylic using a piping bag for graphic detailing. Drawing from his childhood in his father’s wood workshop, he enhances the texture and vibrancy of his works, merging the permanence of painting with the impermanence of graffiti.

Slawn

Saatchi Yates presents the first major London exhibition by trailblazing contemporary artist Olaolu Akeredolu-Ale, better known as Slawn. With his distinct artistic style blending street art and abstract expressionism, his bold, primary coloured portraits satirise modern society with tongue-in-cheek caricatures and stereotypes. Born in Lagos, Nigeria in 2000, Olaoulu Slawn’s work combines his Yoruba heritage with contemporary youth culture.

Art Outdoors: Chila Burman MBE

Finish at Leicester Square Gardens, where you’ll find the vibrant neon art of Chila Kumari Singh Burman MBE. Her stunning installations light up the West End, featuring a brand-new creation made just for Art After Dark.

Burman’s work dives into themes of representation, gender, and cultural identity, making this an absolute must-see for art lovers and anyone eager to explore a bold and creative world.
