Art Outdoors: Chila Burman MBE

Stroll through Leicester Square Gardens and be mesmerised by the colourful neon installations from mixed media artist Chila Kumari Singh Burman MBE. Known for her bold work that explores themes of identity, gender, and culture, Burman’s new piece created for Art After Dark is a must-see.

As you explore the West End, keep an eye out for her playful Mermaid at the Hippodrome, whimsical Flamingos and Ice Cream Cone at Westminster Reference Library, and a majestic Dragon and Phoenix at the Trocadero. It's an immersive art trail you won’t want to miss.

Check out ‘A Gallery of People by People’, this free exhibit in the Studio Gallery showcases creative works from community participants, from under-fives to seniors, in a celebration of connection and learning. Be inspired by their creativity and find out how you can get involved too.

‘People Powered: Stories from the River Tees’,discover the stories of people living and working along the River Tees through photos and artworks from the 2023 award-winning exhibition, brought to you in partnership with MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art).
