Kids Week will be offering families a chance to take part in some super exciting show-based activities in Leicester Square Gardens from Monday 23 August – Friday 27 August. And, today we’re thrilled to share more details with you!
If your little ones are into theatre or if you’d like to do something fun before or after enjoying a Kids Week show, there is plenty to take part in. Please note that entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis. There’s plenty on offer throughout the week so we’re certain you’ll be find something to enjoy.
Kids Week is for ages 5 to 17 – you will be the best judge of which activity is most suitable for your child, and if you’re unsure, we’d recommend checking the age suitability on our show pages. Please note that parents/guardians must stay with their children for the duration of the activity.

Monday 23 August
2pm – 3pm: Kids Week Choir
Join not-for-profit organisation Starling Arts who will be teaching you a Kids Week medley from some of your favourite shows.
4pm – 5pm: Come From Away
Led by cast member Jennifer Tierney, learn choreography from the Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away, including the hugely popular ‘Welcome To The Rock’
Tuesday 24 August
12pm – 1:30pm: Disney’s The Lion King
Teaching artists will transport you from the West End to the African Savannah. Explore choreography and music – inspired by the evocative rhythms of Africa.
2pm – 3pm: Wonderville Magic & Illusion
Fresh from his special guest spot in Wonderville Magic and Illusion, join “The King of Party Tricks” Harry De Cruz as he introduces you into his mad world of magic and teaches you some tricks you can do yourself along the way.
4pm – 5pm: Mamma Mia!
Join former Mamma Mia! cast member Katy Hards to learn the choreography to the finale of the show, and the title song ‘Mamma Mia.’ Parents are welcome to join in, or just sing along!
Wednesday 25 August
12pm – 1pm: Best of’ Barmy Britain
Travel behind-the-scenes for a fun-filled workshop filled with dramatic games, horrific historical facts, living dead lingo and scandalous script work. You will lose your head with laughter and learning as we explore the very best of Barmy Britain. Led by Rebecca Godden, a multi disciplinary practitioner of performing arts.
2pm – 3:30pm: Singalong with Musical Director Ben Papworth
Join Ben Papworth for an afternoon learning a family favourite musical theatre number followed by a musicals singalong featuring all your favourite songs.
Thursday 26 August
12pm – 1pm: Billionaire Boy
Welcome to the world of a Billionaire Boy! Discover the story of this thrilling show through a highly interactive drama workshop, as we explore and create scenes and songs through storytelling, comedy, play and a lot of fun! Led by Rebecca Godden, a multi disciplinary practitioner of performing arts.
2pm – 3pm: Mamma Mia!
Join former Mamma Mia cast member Katy Hards to learn the choreography to the finale of the show, and the title song Mamma Mia! Parents are welcome to join in, or just sing along!
4pm – 5pm: TuckShop’s Musical Singalong with Miss Moppe
Direct from a run in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, the Hilarious Miss Moppe is your host for this family friendly Drag singalong! The whole family will be joining in with hits from the musicals, new and old!
Friday 27 August
10:30am – 11:30am: Shakespeare’s Globe A Midsummer Night’s Dream themed gig workshop
Shakespeare’s Globe Family Workshop is perfect for ages 5 – 8 and their families. Dive into the mysterious, magical & comic story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream together as a family in this fun and practical workshop.
Using a range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the play’s language, characters and themes and to make this famous Shakespeare play accessible to all. The workshop will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced practitioners.
12:30pm – 1:30pm: Mary Poppins
