Dates Announced for London’s West End’s Festive Lights
London’s West End is about to sparkle once again as the iconic festive lights return.
Think twinkling strolls with a Fortnum’s hot chocolate in hand, shopping for bespoke tailoring and luxury fashion down Jermyn Street for the sartorial men in your life, or skating under the stars in Leicester Square.
Here’s everything you need to know before London flips the switch on its most magical season.
Piccadilly
Just moments from Piccadilly Circus, the skies above Piccadilly will shimmer once again with this year’s dazzling display.
The winged figures suspended above the famed street are inspired by the statue of Anteros, the Greek god of love returned, which has stood in Piccadilly Circus since 1893.
Jermyn Street
Jermyn Street, synonmous with classic tailoring and British craftsmanship, will welcome back the ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ - large angel figures soaring above the street. Illuminated by festive lights, these elegant angels add a graceful, enchanting touch to the West End this Christmas.
Leicester Square
Leicester Square is set to dazzle with a star-themed display, celebrating the magic of film and theatre and all the stars of the screen that have graced the square. Cranbourn Street, Irving Street and the surrounding areas will be illuminated by twinkling stars.
Leicester Square’s first-ever ice rink, Skate Leicester Square from Underbelly opens on 1 November, offering skaters the chance to glide beneath the glistening stars for a truly magical experience.
St Martins Lane
St Martin’s Lane will sparkle with theatre-themed lights, twinkling animated lights with golden accents guiding visitors to iconic venues like the Noël Coward Theatre and London Coliseum.
