Tusk’s Turtle Trail is Coming to London
Updates
Launching in July, the Tusk Turtle Trail, in partnership with Art of London, will transform London’s West End into a colourful outdoor art trail.
Giant turtle sculptures, each designed by a well-known artist or star, will take over the streets to celebrate these incredible ocean creatures and raise money to protect them.
Expect bold, eye-catching designs from the likes of Rolling Stone and artist Ronnie Wood, Dragons Den favourites Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett, famed photographer Rankin, acclaimed artist Harland Miller, and illustrator Ralph Steadman.
Each turtle tells a story, about the beauty of marine turtles, the challenges they face, and the people working to save them.
The trail is curated by Chris Westbrook of Westbrook Gallery and is supported by Art of London, Shaftesbury Capital, The View from The Shard, and lead sponsor DHL. Bringing art into the heart of the city while shining a spotlight on a serious issue.
Turtles have been around for over 100 million years, but today, most species are at risk. Pollution, poaching, climate change, and the destruction of nesting beaches have pushed them close to extinction.
The importance of the trail is that it will help fund vital marine conservation projects across Africa — protecting nesting sites, rescuing injured turtles, supporting local communities, and helping nature bounce back.
Launching in July, the Tusk Turtle Trail will run throughout July and August, with all the sculptures auctioned off in October to raise money for the cause.
So whether you’re into art, nature, or just fancy a fun new way to explore London’s West End, this is one trail you won’t want to miss.
