This captivating display showcases space-themed ceramic creations made by young people during the Piccadilly Un:Plugged ceramics workshop, led by Dr. Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian in collaboration with Clayground Collective, the Ceramics Research Centre UK, Central Saint Martins, and local youth groups.
Blending art, science, and the unknown, these pieces were inspired by extraterrestrial iconography, guided by insights from Science Museum Curator Dr. Rebecca Mellor. Participants explored the questions: What do you think extraterrestrials look like? What elements of London life would you share if you had the chance to meet them?
The workshop brought together young people from Westminster City Lions, members of DreamArts, including young carers and unaccompanied refugees, and attendees recruited through Art of London. Under the guidance of Dr. Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian, Duncan Hooson, Tony Quinn from Clayground Collective, and Central Saint Martins students, they crafted a collection that reflects their interpretations of life beyond Earth.
This must-see exhibition invites you to uncover the magic of the cosmos through the eyes of the next generation.
