Art of London Season

The West End remains an outdoor canvas for the Piccadilly Art Takeover, as the work of five esteemed Royal Academy artists decorates Piccadilly. This outdoor art collaboration between the Art of London and the Royal Academy of Arts is set to end this month.

The Art of London Augmented Gallery includes further locations and experience a literal taste of Art of London Season at the Ham Yard Hotel with their limited edition Art of London Afternoon Tea, available this September.

The Tusk Lion Trail

Roaming through the heart of London, don't miss this walking trail past some of the West End’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

The Tusk Lion Trail is a celebration of lions and the people who live alongside them, highlighting the threats currently faced by ‘the King of Beasts’, and raising vital funds to support community conservation and livelihoods impacted by Covid-19 across Africa.

In situ until 24 September, The London Pride includes a spectacular array of artworks from some of the world’s most prolific artists, musicians and comedians including Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, wildlife photographer David Yarrow, artists Hannah Shergold, Ian Davenport, Gavin Turk, David Mach, actors John Cleese, Noel Fielding and many more!

Piccadilly Art Takeover

Visit Piccadilly to see the capital's largest art takeover of its kind. The Piccadilly Art Takeover from The Royal Academy of Arts and Art of London draws to a close on 24 September.

Michael Armitage RA, Farshid Moussavi RA and Yinka Shonibare designed and created the art overhead, 30 hanging canvases adorn Piccadilly in a splash of colour with varying designs and inspirations that work together harmoniously.

Vanessa Jackson RA created UpTownDancing, 13 vibrant pedestrian crossings on Piccadilly and its surrounds. Dancing across these colourful creations is enthusiastically encouraged by the artist herself.

Shown on the Piccadilly Lights, will be a short film Lessons of the Hour created by Isaac Julien RA. Based on the life of abolitionist Frederick Douglass, the film stars actor Ray Fearon. Keep an eye on the Art of London social accounts to see when the full, 30-minute film will be screened on the lights.

Art of London Afternoon Tea

In celebration of Art of London Season, the Ham Yard Hotel has created a special takeover-inspired Afternoon Tea.

Savour a mouth-watering selection of cakes, inspired by the hanging flags, with the apple and custard choux bun taking inspiration from Yinka Shonibare RA’s Eros and the Rose I and the berry Bakewell tart inspired by Farshid Moussavi RA’s La Folie Divine 3/4.

Top off the experience with the Art of London Fizz a cocktail drawing inspiration from UpTownDancing, Vanessa Jackson’s pedestrian crossings.

The Augmented Gallery

Be sure to catch the original West End 'Gallery without Walls' which ends this September.

Using Augmented Reality technology, The Augmented Gallery allows you to see acclaimed artworks from the Royal Academy of Arts, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Sky Arts' Portrait Artist of the Year.

All you need is your phone, the 'Art of London AR Gallery' app and plenty of battery to experience the mile-long outdoor art trail. Now featuring The Wilton Diptych and portraits of David Bowie and Jazzie B.

Scenes in the Square

Leicester Square celebrates the art of film and entertainment with the Scenes in the Square statue trail. Featuring 10 iconic statues of characters and scenes from the big and small screen, along with an audio trail voiced by Alex Zane.
