Where biomimetic architecture and precise micro-scale engineering come together to create an eye-catching installation for all to enjoy.
This collaboration between researchers and students from the Fabrication Lab at the University of Westminster and the SHED at MIT brings together a digitally fabricated, steam-bent timber gazebo with a series of interactive 3D printed concrete sculptures. Explore an installation featuring cutting-edge artefacts crafted through 3D printing and visualised with augmented reality.
Aligned with the 2024 theme of the London Festival of Architecture, 'Reimagine', the installation encourages visitors in the West End to rethink the world using the possibilities and different realities offered by next-generation technologies.
Created in partnership with The Crown Estate, Heart of London Business Alliance, Westminster City Council and London Festival of Architecture. Around Pi Park there will be a series of creative-making workshops between 6th June to 28th June on the theme of Pi so visitors can try their hand at creating and reimagining the famous mathematical construct in creative ways as ceramic Pi(e) Pots, kinetic Pi Bots, or digital Pi Bits.
Visit St James’s Market this June and discover the fusion of mathematics and design with Pi Park.
