Art After Dark returns to London's West End on the 12th and 13th October 2023. Experience world-class art institutions like The National Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, and National Portrait Gallery after-hours. Plus, discover free outdoor artworks and independent galleries across Piccadilly and St. James's.

Art After Dark is set to illuminate the streets of London's West End with public artworks alongside a display celebrating iconic performance artist Marina Abramović.

On the 12th and 13th October, Leicester Square Gardens transformed into an artistic wonderland with an illuminated poem by the talented MTArt Artist, Robert Montgomery.

Leicester Square Gardens featured incredible light installations, including an inflatable immersive sculpture titled 'The Cornucopia' brought to life by British contemporary MTArt Artist Claire Luxton.

Art of London, in partnership with Westminster City Council, is excited to announce a special art project for the Summer edition of Art After Dark. We have joined forces with the incredibly talented artist Amelia Kosminsky and famed florist Philip Corps to bring you a stunning display right in the heart of Piccadilly Circus.

Join us on Friday 30th June, after the sun sets, to explore the rich history and art of iconic West End art institutions—the Royal Academy of Arts, The National Gallery, and the National Portrait Gallery. Discover the vibrant art scene in London as you journey through a series of galleries, immersing yourself in the world of art both indoors and outdoors.

In celebration of Art After Dark, Art of London asked some of St James’s leading galleries participating in the programme to devise their own ideal Art After Dark itinerary. Today Charlotte Tchaikovsky from Stern Pissarro Gallery talks to Art of London about her perfect night of culture in the West End.

As an art addict I am thrilled when given any excuse to create my own gallery hop and Art of London, in partnership with Mayfair Art Weekend, is delivering an excellent opportunity to make a night of it with Art After Dark. This is a free, seasonal late night culture programme returning on 29th and 30th June which sees world class galleries keeping their doors open until 9pm.

The oldest and most comprehensive portrait gallery anywhere in the world, London’s National Portrait Gallery will reopen its doors this June after a once in a lifetime refurbishment.
